For instructors who use the myGateway Course Homepages to share materials with students, a new channel is now available to make it easier to migrate content from one semester to another.
To add this channel, click the Content/Layout link, choose the tab you want, then click the New Channel button where you wish to place the channel. You will find Copy Course Content in the Faculty category.
Using the channel is simple. First, make sure you’ve activated the destination course by clicking on it in the Course Leader Activity Channel. You can tell it’s active when the CRN is listen in brackets at the end of the title. Then, in the Copy Course Content channel, choose the source and destination terms and then click Get Courses. Next specify the source and destination courses, and which types of content you wish to copy, the click Copy. That’s all there is to it.
UPDATE: If you're not familiar with the term codes we use, you may find the Source and Destination Term lists a little confusing. The first four digits of the term code signify the academic year. So "2008" refers to the 2008-2009 school year (not just the 2008 calendar year). The last two digits signify the term. For the colleges, "10" is Fall, "20" is Spring, and "30" is Summer. For the School of Continuing Education, "05" is Summer, "15" is Fall, "25" is Winter, and "35" is Spring.
As of March 30, it will be Spring for both the colleges and SCE. So that makes the term code 200820 and 200835, respectively.
