CourseSmart is a provider of eTextbooks. Students may now purchase electronic textbooks through myGateway using the CourseSmart web site. The purchase of any electronic textbooks occurs on the coursesmart web site and is a separate transaction from paying for courses or other fees at the district. The district provides the access to coursesmart.com seamlessly through myGateway.
The following is documentation of integration points between myGateway and CourseSmart, providing streamlined access to electronic textbook offerings.



If the student has an existing CourseSmart account, clicking “Go To CourseSmart Bookshelf” will initiate a single-sign on transaction to the student’s CourseSmart bookshelf which lists all the student’s previously purchased eTextbooks. If this is the first time the student has accessed CourseSmart, an account will be dynamically created for him or her. Students can click the ‘Select a term’ link at the bottom of the page to view available eTextbooks based on the student’s list of courses from past or future terms.

2. Course Schedule View: Students who have already registered for classes will have the ability to display available eTextbooks for the classes in which they are registered. In the Student Schedule display (accessed via the ‘Student Records’ tab) a link to “Check Available eTextbooks” will be presented.

Clicking any of these links will present the ‘Available eTextbooks’ page from which the student can connect directly to the CourseSmart Bookshelf to order the book or access previously-purchased texts.
