Employee District Forms Available in MyGateway

Sharing district documents/forms has been somewhat of an issue in the past. Each campus has their own shared network drive where they've been keeping district documents and trying to keep the latest documents in those shared drives for our employees across the district has been challenging. Syncing all the shared drives across the campuses have been cumbersome. MyGateway provides features for sharing documents in its Group Studio, however, this requires that everyone in need of a document go to the group, navigate to the files and access the document. There was really no simple method of accessing the documents from a tab or channel, until now!

Allow me to introduce to you the new file manager for district documents and forms available in MyGateway.

The channel is located on the "Employee" tab and is available to all employees. You can see from the view above that the channel is divided into two parts: the directory view (on the left) and the file view (on the right). To navigate through the directories, expand the directory list on the left and click the directory you'd like to view the contents of.

Example, I'll expand the directory by clicking the plus sign next to "District Forms" then click on the "HR" directory. The file manager now has the "HR" directory highlighted and displays the contents of the "HR" directory in the "File View". All the files and directories in the "HR" directory are displayed on the right hand side of the file manager as seen below.

You can navigate to any of the available directories and view the contents of any directory.

Downloading a particular document can be done by scrolling the "File View" to the right. This will display a "Download" button on each of the rows for each document. Clicking the "Download" button next to a specific document will start the download of that document and prompt you to either open the file or save it to your local computer.

Since there are multiple rows on the "Employee" tab. The screen real estate for the file manager can be limiting. If you would like a better view of the file manager and the documents, you can maximize the channel by clicking the maximize button for the channel. See below.

Ahhh! Now you have a much larger area to work with.

Enjoy! :)
