This new version is built on Ellucian's Luminis 5.3 platform. We look forward to moving to this new version of Luminis. Some of the improvements are:
- Responsive Web Design
- Modern, Clean, Consistent and Improved User Interface
- Direct User Feedback Suggestions (MyGateway Suggestions)
- Searchable Document Repository (District Forms and Information)
- Course/Group Wikis, Blogs, WYSIWYG content editor, Message Boards, Google Drive integration, Bookmarks, Calendar, Polls and more

Due to the complete shift in technology:
- Group information/data will not be migrated from the current version to the new version of MyGateway. Since Luminis 5 is a complete shift in technology, their isn't an easy method of moving this group or course data. Thus, it is best if the owners of the data move their data to the new system once it is available. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COPIES OF FILES AND DATA YOU NEED FROM ANY GROUPS OR COURSES.
- Ellucian (the Luminis vendor) has made a decision not to include the "Consolidated Courses" feature that is currently available in MyGateway. As a result, anyone using consolidated courses will have to get use to using individual courses instead of bundling all their courses in one consolidated course.
- Copy Course Content Channel will not be available in the new version of MyGateway. However, from course or group (now called sites) Administration, users have the ability to "Export" and "Import" course content. Thus, you can export course content from one term and import that content into a course for another term. This provides the ability of moving course content from one term to another. Please see the faculty documentation under Exporting and Importing course content at https://www.nocccd.edu/files/mygatewayl5faculty_44420.pdf for more information.
- Imported Groups for Targeted announcements are not supported with this new version of Luminis. However, users can still target groups for emails and announcements. Users won't be able to create an Ad-hoc group via Argos. The populations will have to be general groups of the system's population.
Although we don't have a one to one relationship with the features in Luminis 5 that were available in Luminis 4, we look forward to moving to this new system on Friday, August 11th.
Thank you!
